Who may use the mark

Only the customer of record for a specific, currently active PROVENANCE VERIFIED™ credential may display the certification mark in direct connection with that specific certified item. Use is limited to the item identified in the credential and only for the period during which the credential remains in active, non-suspended, non-revoked, non-expired, and non-superseded status. The mark may not be used in connection with any item that does not have a currently active credential.

Permitted uses

The mark may be displayed: in product listings, invoices, certificates of authenticity, and physical tags accompanying the specific certified item; in press or marketing materials that accurately identify the specific item and cite the credential's public registry ID; and in digital contexts where a machine-readable link to the public registry record is accessible. All displays must accurately identify the tier of certification and must not suggest a broader scope of certification than the credential's disclosed claim scope.

Prohibited uses

You may not: (a) use the mark in connection with any item that is not covered by a currently active credential issued to you; (b) continue to display the mark after the credential is revoked, suspended, superseded, or expired without authorization from Veritan; (c) use the mark to suggest laboratory verification, appraisal endorsement, insurance coverage, or investment-grade status; (d) alter, modify, or combine the mark with other design elements in a way that creates a false impression; (e) sublicense or assign the right to display the mark to any other party; or (f) use the mark in a way likely to cause confusion about the scope, tier, or nature of the certification.

Automatic termination

This license terminates automatically and immediately upon: revocation, suspension, expiration, or supersession of the underlying credential; a material change to the certified item not reflected in an updated credential; transfer of ownership of the item to a party who has not obtained an updated credential; or any breach of this license. Termination requires no notice from Veritan. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the mark in connection with the previously licensed item and remove or obscure any display of the mark.

No sublicense; no ownership transfer

This license grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to display the mark. No ownership of the mark or any associated intellectual property is transferred. VERITAN, INC. retains all ownership of the PROVENANCE VERIFIED™ corporate master mark and all associated design system elements. Veritan reserves the right to update the mark standards; credential holders will be notified of any material change.
